Project initiator: Elinah Famonjena
Title: NDAO HIOVA HO AMIN'NY TSARA
Theme: Waste
Category of the project: Joint action
Realisation: May-July 2023
My project aims to raise awareness about the importance of waste separation and a functioning waste system.
As part of my project, I worked with students from EPP (elementary school) to Tulear University students and vendors from the public marketplace in the center.
In joint actions, classrooms, schoolyards and public places were cleaned up and freed from plastic.
The aim of the actions was to educate people about the value of the environment and the measures to protect it in order to bring about change through joint actions.
The concept of the project was to involve as many people as possible in one place in the clean-up work in order to strengthen the sense of community and the opportunity for change and to inspire people to protect the environment.
For me, environmental protection begins with education, which is why I started small information events in schools and universities. Equally important is the experience that environmental protection is possible and can even be fun, which is why the joint clean-up work was of great importance!
My wish is that those involved in my project are motivated and inspired by our actions to continue working to improve the hygienic situation in public buildings and places in Madagascar.
I hope that I have given the younger generation in particular valuable experience and information that they will hopefully carry on in their own way.
